Happy Birthday to Mii-chan!

Happy Birthday Dear Miori!
It was Miori's 18th Birthday a few days ago! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIORI!

She has a new blog at http://www.star-studio.jp/miori/

I haven't been able to keep up with what's been happening with SweetS ex-members because I just moved to a new country a few months ago and I'm busy adjusting to a new language and culture. I'll try to look for a new place to move this blog to because I rarely check this account.. I use facebook now.. and I'm too busy most of the time! :(

Anyways, I'll still support SweetS ex-members as much as I can.. and I hope you do too!

This Blog Closing..

It's the 1st day of the Chinese New Year and it's a symbolic time to end old habits and start new ones. I've decided to close this blog so I can devote more time into new activities like focusing on my new job and studying Nihongo at the same time. I just got the EJU application form a few days ago in an attempt to study in Japan in the future.

I'll still be checking this account though, in case some people will still be interested in SweetS. Thanks to all the people who left messages during the past two years and to those who helped spread SweetS to their friends. SweetS will always be dear to us all =)

Waseda? Nope!

Top_image_1I attended a seminar on Japanese Education by JASSO yesterday because I’m planning to study a postgraduate degree either in Japan or Singapore. Of course, Waseda was on my list because of Miori it had the graduate school I was looking for. Unfortunately, the female JASSO panelist could only talk about the University of Tokyo since she studied there. She mentioned, though, that Waseda is one of the top private universities in Japan with 2,190 foreign students as of last year. She also gave the requirements and costs of studying in Japan which includes a high degree of Japanese language proficiency plus enough cash to start a small bank. Unfortunately again, there are only 3 slots available for MEXT Scholarships for Singaporeans and my nihongo is still awful It looks like I’ll have to pursue that degree in NUS instead (or maybe just study more Nihonggo)

Breakup Blues

Mioricry
It has just been a day after the announcement of the SweetS breakup and i feel really upset about it already.  I usually wake up to download the latest PVs and check out their official site + the Aki/Aya blog, which motivates me to study Japanese afterwards, but now i wasn't in the mood anymore.
-
For over two years me and the sweetsdesu peeps (especially Bene, Hansen, Genji, cool beans) would eagerly anticipate their every single and make graphics, sigs and avatars on Photoshop while waiting for the release date. Then we started singing and recording our own SweetS songs and english-subbed the old SweetS videos. And then just two weeks ago, we finished our first international gift project for SweetS where over 20 people participated. Sure some people speculate they'll be back as solo artists, but it won't be the same anymore.

i remembered in psychology class that there were phases of grief or extreme sadness that everyone goes through. These were shock, denial, anger, depression, etc. i think i've gone through all stages except the last one which is acceptance and hope:

shock - "WTF?!?!? They're breaking up?!?!"
denial - "Noooooo!! Nononononono!!"
guilt - "but i still have SweetS fan art to make.."
anger - "Damn Avex for allowing them to break up!"
depression - "I've been a SweetS fan for so long.. what am i gonna do now?!?"
acceptance and hope - (not yet)
